To love an animal is the most innocent and nurturing thing we can do in our lives. Some of us take that love for animals and want to do something to help them. So, we rescue.
Because of our desire to help animals, our hearts compel us to want to keep animals safe and loved. The reality for many animals isn't always a loving home. Many animals are treated cruelly, abandoned or neglected. Someone has to step in and do something about it, so why not you. The best of intentions leads you to want to help rescue animals and heal them, but then there's all the things you didn't know came with rescue. There are experiences you didn't know you'd encounter. Animal care seems simple enough, but there's a lot more that comes with having your own rescue or farm sanctuary than actually rescuing. When we started Cloven Heart, it was from a true love of animals. Because we had a little bit of land, why not farm animals. I had always loved farm animals. If I had had a book like this to read before starting Cloven Heart, there would have been many different choices made. But some of us like doing things the hard way. Well, you don't have to. Reading "One Day I Want to Have a Farm Sanctuary" will help you be more prepared and have a truer understanding of all the things you'll need to consider before starting your rescue journey. |
