MOON PIE
Moon Pie is a feral kitty that was being held in a pet store in a bird cage in Honolulu. We liberated her and offered her a home with good food and safety. She also moved to Texas to be part of the Cloven Heart brood. It took her a while to learn how to become friends with the other cats, but she has since become very fond of sleeping on top of a human. Her favorite thing to do is to find birds from the window and chatter at them. Moon loves to play rough with hands and appreciates a good back rub. Moon Pie fell ill mid January 2024. Through vet, diagnostics, hospitalization and supplemental care, it was determined that she may be in kidney failure. She passed away on February 6, 2024. Necropsy showed she passed from FIP which is fatal with no course of vaccine or cure. Her sponsor was kept up to date of care and notified. It is always difficult to let a sponsor know when someone has crossed the rainbow bridge. Remembering Moon Pie: She loved to eat. She loved to tell you when she was hungry which was all the time. She was plump and fat in all the best ways. She loved to steal food. She loved to sit on your chest. She loved to get her butt patted aggressively and would roll around and be very frisky. She was very cute. She had the cutest face. She was very sweet all the time. She had these very big green eyes. She ultra soft and squishy. She loved to steal nap spots from other cats. |
COULEE
(rescued September 2019, RIP 2024) Coulee is quite possible the most beautiful turkey boy in the world. He was a baby turkey reject from a local feed store and had no home until coming to Cloven Heart in 2019. Watching him grow up was fascinating. Coulee is very food motivated and will come running full force if he thinks you might have a treat in hand. He's so in love with food that we had to switch the feed bowls to rubber because he would slam his beak down so hard he once cracked it. Coulee loves to flirt with all the ladies by fluffing out his feathers and walking around them. He also is very big on supervising every event taking place near the barn. He is very into getting kisses on his head and getting rubs under his wings. Coulee did suddenly without expectation. Most likely due to old age or a heart attack. He had been fine with no signs of illness and was found early one evening no longer here. Remembering Coulee: He loved to talk and if you said his name, he would respond. Coulee loved the ladies. He was a flirt. Coulee loved head kisses. Coulee was very active and loved to walk around. Coulee was the most beautiful boy. He was very loved and will be very missed. |
