Cloven Heart Farm Sanctuary was established and is operated by mother, Davy, and daughter, Tab. They moved to China Spring, Texas in 2016. They rescued their first sheep/lambs in 2017. The sanctuary was established/registered in 2018. Charity nonprofit status 501c3 was achieved in 2020. Davy and Tab have always been a close family unit. Davy was a single parent most of Tab's life and has always instilled in her a love and respect for animals. The dream was always to have a small farm where farmed animals could be rescued to live out happy lives. Since becoming a sanctuary, the dream has evolved to create a greater impact on farmed animal advocacy.
